The terms for using SciVolume

These terms govern your use of SciVolume, the AI book-writing workspace at scivolume.ai. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. Questions: davie@daviechen.com.
SciVolume is currently offered as an early-access service. Features may change, be added or be removed, and some AI features may show sample output while they are being connected. We may limit usage to keep the service running for everyone.
You need an account with a valid email address to write with SciVolume. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping the sign-in codes we send you private. You must be at least 16 years old.
You own the manuscripts, sources, figures and other content you create or upload. You grant us only the permission needed to store, process, display and export that content for you, including sending relevant parts to AI model providers when you use an AI feature. We do not use your content to train public AI models, and we do not share it with other users.
You are responsible for having the right to upload the sources you add and for how you use the books you produce, including obtaining permission for any third-party material you include.
AI-generated text, outlines, translations and figures are suggestions. They can be wrong, incomplete or unsuitable for publication, and they are not a substitute for your own judgement or for checking the underlying sources. SciVolume cites only sources in your library, but you remain responsible for verifying every citation, claim and translation before you rely on it or publish it.
Do not use SciVolume to break the law, to infringe others' rights, to produce content that is defamatory or harmful, to plagiarise, to misrepresent AI-generated work where disclosure is required, or to attack or overload the service. We may suspend or close accounts that do this.
We work to keep SciVolume available but do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your books.
SciVolume does not currently charge for early access. If paid plans are introduced, their prices and terms will be published before you are asked to pay.
You can delete your account at any time from the settings page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Sections on your content, AI output, disclaimers and liability continue to apply after termination.
SciVolume is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about fitness for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses arising from reliance on AI output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
